Hennessey Venom GT Fastest Car in the World

With its 25th anniversary, Hennessey Performance Engineering, the American supercar tuning company, has proved that their Venom GT Spyder is one of the fastest cars the world has ever built. (Hennessey Venom GT Fastest Car in the World.)

The Hennessey Venom GT also holds its own world record for being the fastest production car. The record was set on March 25 for the Venom GT Spyder, driven by Brian Smith, director of the Ford Performance Racing School, at Naval Air Space Lemoore, California. Hennessy claims that this is not the actual top speed of the Venom GT Spyder, but it was enough to set a new world record for the car.

  • Venom GT Spyder broke the previous record with a top speed of 435 Km/h
  • Hennessey Venom GT Spyder World Record Editions to come out soon

With its 25th anniversary, American supercar tuning company, Hennessy Performance Engineering has proved that their Venom GT Spyder is one of the fastest cars the world has ever built. The topless version of Hennessey’s own creation – the Venom GT – also broke the previous world record by achieving a thrilling top speed of 256.6 mph i.e. 435 km/h. The previous record was held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Vitesse, which clocked a top speed of 254.04 mph (408.8 km/h).

This small tuning company from Texas has managed to break the record set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and build the fastest car on land. The Hennessey Venom GT also holds the record for the fastest speed. And it has set a top speed record of 435km/h, which is 2km/h faster than the Veyron.

This car achieved this record on the runway of the Kennedy Space Center built for the landing of the Space Shuttle. But even its 3.3-mile shuttle landing strip wasn’t long enough to make the most of the Venom GT. The Venom GT had enough power to keep up with the pace.

However, Guinness would not certify this run as a record. Because for this Venom will have to score 2 runs to make this record; One together and the other against the wind. Guinness also stipulates that it requires 30 records for a car to be certified as a “production vehicle”. But Hennessy has only made 29 records, and it will have to make 1 more record to achieve this record.

And then as far as the runway is concerned. The Veyron Super Sport managed to achieve a speed record of 433 km/h on the Ehra-Lesson test track, which is the exact opposite of the track used at the Kennedy Space Center.

7.0-liter biturbo V8 engine

The Venom GT Spyder’s stupendous top speed is all thanks to its powerful 7.0-liter biturbo V8 engine which is tuned to produce a maximum of 1,431bhp and develop 1,745Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission from Ricardo that sends power to the rear wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph i.e. 0-96 km/h in less than 2.4 seconds while achieving 0-300 km/h in less than 13 seconds.

It has also been revealed that the company will commemorate this new world record by bringing out three Venom GT Spyder World Record Editions soon. While the launch and other specific details are yet to come out it is said that each of these limited edition models will come baring a price tag starting from $1.3 million.
