BMW M 1000 XR: The Most Powerful Crossover Sport Bike
BMW Motorrad has unveiled its latest and most powerful crossover sport bike, the M 1000 XR. Which is going to compete with Kawasaki. The BMW M 1000 XR is based on BMW’s existing S 1000 XR, but BMW is including it in the M segment, which means you get the company’s top-of-the-line performance and features.
The BMW M 1000 XR is powered by a 999 cc inline-four engine that produces 201 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. It generates 31 horsepower more than the S 1000 XR. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a quick shifter.
The BMW M 1000 XR also gets a number of other performance upgrades, including a lighter frame, carbon fiber bodywork, and M-specific brakes and suspension. It comes with several electronic rider assists, such as traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS.
The M 1000 XR is expected to be launched in India soon. This will be the most powerful crossover sport bike available in the country.

BMW M 1000 XR Design
The new BMW M 1000 XR has several design changes that differentiate it from the standard S 1000 XR. What you’ll notice most about it is its new front-end change, which has a more aggressive design with sharper lines and larger air intakes. The M 1000 XR also gets a new headlight with integrated cornering lights.
On the sides, the M 1000 XR gets a new fairing with larger air intakes and M-specific winglets. The winglets are designed to generate downforce, which improves stability at high speeds.
At the rear, the M 1000 XR gets a new tail section with a smaller license plate holder and integrated turn signals. The rear is also more aerodynamic than the rear of the standard S 1000 XR.

In this bike, features like AM carbon wheel, M rider footrest, M rear footrest, and M GPS-lap trigger activation code have been added as special features. Apart from this, among its other features you get facilities like a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone connectivity, voice assist navigation system, heated grips, and tire pressure monitoring system.

BMW M 1000 XR Engine
To power the BMW M 1000 XR, a 999 cc in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor has been used. Which generates a power of 201bhp and a peak torque of 112nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. In this, you have been given the benefit of bi-directional quick-shifter technology. In its safety features, safety features like Pit Lane Limiter, Launch Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, ABS, Slide Control, Dynamic Brake Control, and Shift Assistant are introduced. With this, you get modes like (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1-3) in reading mode.
The M 1000 XR engine features a number of performance upgrades, including:

- Titanium intake valves
- A lighter crankshaft
- A new exhaust system
The engine also features BMW’s ShiftCam variable valve timing technology. ShiftCam allows the engine to switch between two different cam profiles, depending on the engine speed. This allows the engine to produce more power and torque at high RPMs, while still maintaining good fuel economy and low emissions at low RPMs.
BMW M 1000 XR Suspension and Brakes
The suspension of the BMW M 1000 XR is handled by 45 mm USD front forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. For braking on both wheels, a dual 320mm disc brake has been added at the front and a 265mm single disc brake at the rear.

BMW M 1000 XR is planned to be launched in India very soon. Because BMW has already launched it on its social media handles as well as its official website. It may launch by the end of 2023. The BMW M 1000 XR is expected to be priced lower than the BMW M 1000 R in the Indian market. It can be launched for around Rs 24.96 lakh ex-showroom.
